MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS
Our courses are for Adult Learners and therefore you must be aged 18 or over before the commencement of their course. It is essential that the student’s declaration of date of birth be correct in your application and account details and you risk cancellation of your course place by us, without refund, if information given in your application is not correct.
APPLICATIONS
As we rely on the information provide by students on their application forms and in any requested documents, it is essential that all information provided be accurate and true and you risk cancellation of your course place by us, without refund, if information given in your application is not correct.
PRICES
The prices quoted on this site and in our brochures are correct at the date of publication. We reserve the right to adjust these prices at any time.
Unless otherwise stated course fees include registration, tuition, assessment (first-time assessment taken or due at the timetabled or advised date and time only) and certification.
Fees do not include re-sit fees, text books, stationary, corporate uniform items, excursions or any other travel required for course purposes
PAYMENT
The course fee must be paid as agreed at the time of booking or on receipt of invoice. We reserve the right to re-allocate the course place to another student if fees are not paid as agreed. All transfer charges must be paid for on receipt of the invoice.
Fees are payable online by card (excluding AMEX); or by bank transfer, card, cash or UK bank cheque (please email admissions@hteschools.com for these payment options)
TRANSFERRING COURSES
Full-time Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses and Advanced Certificate courses - It is not possible to transfer to an alternative date on full time Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses or Advanced Certificate courses and deposits/fees paid are non-refundable.
All other courses - If a student wishes to transfer a booking to an alternative start date there will be a transfer charge of 50% of the full course fees if the request is made more than 45 days before the start date of the original course date, or a charge of 75% of the course fee if the request is made more than 30 days before the start date of the original course date. Transfer requests made within 30 days of the course start date are treated as cancellations and fees are non-refundable. The charges must be paid at the time of the transfer request at the applicable rate.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone courses or events at any time without liability. In these circumstances, students can be offered an alternative course or event, a credit note or full refund. We cannot be held liable for any other expenses incurred by students, their sponsors or their companies due to the cancellation or postponement of a course or event by us.
Fees are not refundable unless a course or event is cancelled by us.
Where a student cancels their course or event place, fees are not refundable and full course or event fees due remain payable.
Where a student fails to attend or complete their course, fees are not refundable and full course fees due remain payable.
DISCOUNTS & SPECIAL OFFERS
Any discounts offered on our courses are exclusive. They cannot be combined. In the case of special offers these must be requested at time of booking, and will not automatically be applied.
PAYMENT PLANS
The offering of payment plans as payment options for course fees is at our discretion. The option to pay course fees by payment plan is not automatic. Students offered and accepting payment plans will be required to sign a payment plan agreement committing them to full payment of their course fees regardless of attendance on, or completion of the course. No transcript or certification will be issued to the student until the final payment of the payment plan has been received. Only UK or EU nationals or those with permanent residence in the UK can apply for payment plans. Payment plans cannot be used by Companies/Organisition bookings or for bookings requiring invoicing.
CHANGES TO COURSE CONTENT, FACILITIES & DELIVERY
Our courses are constantly updated and improved and we reserve the right to alter any of the courses’ content without prior notice.
We reserve the right to add or withdraw members from our faculty or administration, and to arrange its courses, programmes, and facilities as teaching and economic exigencies render it desirable.
We reserve the right to change any course provision or requirement at any time, even within a student’s term of enrolment
GREEN POLICY
We strongly believe in reducing paper and consumables dependence by our management and teaching team, and amongst our student body. We take seriously the responsibility of both an individual and a corporation to reduce waste and re-use or recycle whenever possible.
Therefore, apart from worksheets which your trainer may use on occasion for a course related exercise- we do not provide printed copies of lessons, presentations, handouts or class notes. We encourage students to take notes of key points, use the required text for reference and participate in class exercises to maximize their learning experience.
We may also email students relevant templates and support material to assist with their learning where relevant and appropriate. Where we can use electronic alternatives we will always try to do so - we prefer to utilize electronic communications and material distribution whenever possible
COURSE NOTES & TRAINING
Any notes and training for our courses cannot be relied upon for legal interpretation. Neither the Schools, nor its employees, trainers, lecturers, tutors, associates or consultants can accept responsibility for students' actions, or those of other people reading the course notes or interpreting the training in litigation, or responsibility for any loss incurred as a result of relying on the training or the training notes. If in doubt, consult a lawyer.
TIMEKEEPING & STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR
Students are required to attend all lectures and to be punctual at all times.
The School further reserves the right to suspend or exclude any student, temporarily or permanently, for any due cause (including misconduct, disruptive or aggressive behavior, harassment or bullying of, or towards, any student, staff member, associate or contact of the school) at any time without recourse to refund of fees and any fees due remain payable.
Admission to the School is conditional upon acceptance and compliance with the rules and regulations of the School, as now established or hereafter revised.
If a student does not conform to these requirements or is disruptive in any way, he/she may be dismissed from the course without recourse to any refund of fees and any fees owing remain due.
ASSESSMENT, CERTIFICATION AND AWARDS
Students must satisfy all academic, attendance and financial obligations in order to receive the final award.
All work submitted as part of the School’s assessment requirements must be the student's own work.
On Certificate courses, 70% attendance is also required to achieve a Course PASS
On Diploma Courses, 80% attendance is also required to achieve a Course PASS.
No certification or transcript will be awarded where course fees are still owing or other fees of any nature (i.e. re-sit fees, uniform costs)
INDEMINITY
Students agree to release the School from all liability to them on account of negligence, accident or illness and to indemnify the School against all expense incurred on their account which are not covered by the programme while they are a student.
DELIVERY AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
The school conducts its courses using a combination of theory, practical and experiential learning and that I will on occasion be required to participate in learning activities on evenings or weekends due to the nature of the learning opportunities that become available.
ADDITIONAL TERMS & CONDITIONS - DIPLOMA & ADVANCED CERTIFICATE COURSES
DELIVERY METHOD: EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Students on full time programmes participate in a broad range of lessons & activities that meet the learning outcomes of their programme. Programmes are built around and will include experiential learning that the School assesses will provide the learning experiences required to meet academic and vocational skills requirements of the course. Samples of activities that may be included in a programme are: theory classes, lectures, tutorials, interactive exercises, activities, research, assigned reading, project work, group work, guest speakers, site tours, excursions, practical tuition, industry exposure, work experience, workplace learning, work shadowing, simulations, role play.
DRESS CODE
The School operates a strict dress code for all full time students and students are expected to adhere to the high standards set.
Students are required to have a high standard of professional image and personal presentation - students are required to wear and have visible at all times during class and school activities, an item of the Schools corporate branded clothing range of shirts, t-shirts, jackets, pullovers or gillets, which are worn with the students own black, grey or white trousers/skirts and shoes.
A range of affordable School branded items are available for purchase during orientation of each course.
Students who do not adhere to the required standards of presentation and clothing will not be allowed access to class and school activities which will affect their attendance records. Students who do not adhere to the required standards on a regular or sustained basis may be excluded, suspended or face permanent expulsion with no recourse to refund of fees and any fees due remain owing.
The School reserves the right to amend or update the dress code at any time.
STUDENT HANDBOOK
Full Time Students are issued with a student handbook on commencement of their course and are expected to adhere to the policies and procedures within the handbook.
