Course Aim
To provide students with a full understanding of the role of the event manager and to provide a comprehensive range of event management skills and knowledge through both theory and practical - including live event planning and delivery.
To provide marketing, PR and sales skills essential for the successful event marketing and promotions.

A key component to the success of our Event Diploma programmes and the success of our graduates is the inclusion of Live Event planning, promotions and delivery.
The Live Event included in each programme varies depending on opportunities presented by the Industry, the course start date and the Schools' event year calender. In all cases students experience a full range of practical event management activities.
Types of Live Events on Diploma Courses have included "Tea on the Quay" - a nautically themed afternoon tea with awards ceremony; "Castaway Docklands" - a regatta style watersports event; "Whatever Floats Your Boat" - a charity fund raiser; the BusAbout clients party; a corporate Christmas party; a "posh picnic"; production of a corporate video; a cocktail party; a gala dinner; a 60's style venue launch; an Oscars Style Awards Ceremony.
Course Entry Requirements

We can accept UK/EU applicants and those with UK permanent residence.
(Applicants who require a student visa to study in the UK are not eligible.)

Students must be over 18 years of age by the commencement date of their course

Competent English Language Skills

Computer literacy - students require access to a computer and a competent standard of computer usage for the production of assignments and course work and they should be able to confidently use the Internet and provide and maintain an email address for receiving school correspondence and notifications.

Students must have regular access to the Internet for research and communication purposes and provide a reliable email address.

Students must have a lap-top or netbook that they can use during class in the 2nd and 3rd term during live event planning

Assessed by the School as motivated and committed to the attendance, study, personal presentation and behavioral standards required by the School and to successfully complete their learning programme, and be able to demonstrate a genuine and strong interest in, and commitment to joining and/or progressing in the event industry.
- Students must be prepared to undertake event planning activities between classes as part of the live event component.

Successful completion of all required assessments - the format of which may include: written exams, reports, projects, observed activities, peer assessment, reflective reviews, logs, diaries, assignments.
Course Costs
Course fees include registration, tuition, live event experience, assessment* & certification.
In addition students should allow approx £100 for course texts or excursions.
*Students should be aware that should they fail an assessment, or fail to attend a scheduled assessment, or not meet an assessment deadline, then re-sit fees will apply.
